This tour is made thinking of those active explorers in search of both adrenaline and culture. The activities include climbing an active volcano, zip lining, kayaking, hiking, but at the same time half day walking tour in antigua and visiting an indigenous market.

    1. Chichicastenango Market is held only on Thursdays and Sundays, so the itinerary must go around this day
    2. There are other markets you may visit. One of them is Comalapa market and it is held every Tuesday or Friday.
    3. Lake Atitlan and Chichicastenango may be exchangeable with the order. You may first visit Chichicastenango and then Lake Atitlan
    4. Guatemala City, Antigua & Lake Atitlan are all 5,000ft asl. It might get chilly at nights so be prepared


    Start the tour with a some adrenaline, climbing an active volcano. The hike takes about 2.5hours and enjoy lunch as a pic nic style. This volcano is one of the most visited in Guatemala.  With 2,552m (8,373ft) above the sea level it’s been active since 1965.  Enjoy beautiful views toward other volcanoes and from the top you may also see the south coastline.

    Explore Antigua which is among the world’s best conserved colonial cities in the Americas. Here you will find cobblestone streets, art galleries, coffee shops, colonial architecture and wooden sculptures. Your guide will show you the secrets of this town and amazing heritage buildings. He/she will make you understand why Spaniards settle on this valley and the troubles they encountered.

    The area of Antigua is famous for growing one of the best coffees in Central America. Visit a real coffee hacienda to get up close and personal with the whole coffee making process, experiencing the smells, the sights and the flavor of one of Guatemala’s most famous exports.

    Visit Chichicastenango, for sure one of the most colorful native market in the Americas. Experience the color, dialects, costumes, smoke and the mix of the Maya with the catholic religion.

    Next, travel through the highlands to see one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. With three volcanoes rising out the emerald surface. At the same time the sun sets between them. Embark on a boat to visit two indigenous villages and see how locals live their daily life.

    And last, fly to the northern region to Tikal, an important ceremonial center with the construction of major pyramid and temples Tikal National Park contains some of the most fascinating archaeological remains of the ancient Maya Civilization. Excavated by Pennsylvania University, is the largest excavated site in the American continent.
